- Last Day for Students - Early Release
About Calhoun County School District
Calhoun County has eight early-release days. Six have a published 1:00 p.m. dismissal time: September 30, October 30 and December 18, 2026; February 12, April 23 and May 28, 2027. Students also leave early on November 11 and March 19, but the district calendar doesn't specify a time for those two days. Check with your school before planning pickup. All times are Central Time.
Thanksgiving break runs November 23–27, 2026. Christmas break for students follows from December 21 through January 5, with classes resuming Wednesday, January 6. January 4–5 are teacher workdays, so students do not return on those dates. Spring break is March 22–26, 2027, with classes scheduled to resume March 29.
The district closed schools on October 9, 2026, because of severe weather concerns. With the October 12–13 fall holidays already scheduled, students were off October 9–13 and returned Wednesday, October 14. The original calendar still marks October 9 as the end of the first grading period. The October 7 closure notice did not announce a make-up day or a revised grading deadline.
Graduation dates vary by school. Blountstown High School graduation is May 20, followed by Altha Public School on May 21. Kindergarten ceremonies are scheduled for Altha on May 25 at 9:00 a.m., Blountstown Elementary on May 26 at 9:00 a.m., and Carr on May 27 at 8:30 a.m. Carr's eighth-grade ceremony follows at 9:15 a.m. the same day. These are school-specific events, and the district's last student day remains May 28. Ceremony times are Central Time.

About This Calendar
Data source & handling: The supplied one-page district PDF is byte-for-byte identical to the current official download. The district Calendars page states Board Approved March 10, 2026 and supplements the PDF with kindergarten and Carr eighth-grade ceremony dates. The October 7 district weather notice supplies the October 9 closure and October 14 return. Dates are collected from district materials and organized into key dates, monthly calendars and calendar subscriptions. Visit Calhoun County Schools’s official website.
Disclaimer: The reviewed attendance count may change if the district announces make-up arrangements. Use school notices for the two unspecified early-release times, ceremony instructions and summer-school participation. Calendar approval is supported by the web page, not by an approval date printed in the PDF.
