About Brevard Public Schools

Not every Brevard student starts school on the same day. Under the regular 2026–2027 district calendar, students in grades 1–12 begin Monday, August 10. Kindergarten starts Thursday, August 13, and Pre-K starts Monday, August 17.

The first Friday, August 14, has regular dismissal. Early release begins August 21 and continues on scheduled school Fridays, with additional early-release exam days in December and May. Check your school's bell schedule for pickup times.

Thanksgiving Break runs November 23–27, with classes scheduled to resume November 30. Students are also off from December 21 through January 4 for winter holidays, returning Tuesday, January 5. Spring Break is March 22–26, but students get an additional day off on Friday, March 19, for a teacher workday. That means no classes from March 19 through March 28, with school scheduled to resume Monday, March 29.

FOCUS reporting dates vary by school level. Elementary final report cards are issued May 26 and published on FOCUS May 27. Secondary final report cards are scheduled for June, but the district calendar does not specify a day. Families at Challenger 7 Elementary should use the school's separate modified calendar, which has different attendance and break dates.
